The RVS College of Engineering and Technology was established in 2007 by the RVS Educational Trust, which was led by chairman Dr. K. V. Kuppusamy. It is approved by the AICTE and is affiliated with Anna University. The college is spread across a vast campus area of 200 acres, is situated on Trichy Road and just 14 kilometres from the city of Coimbatore. - For BE degree courses: Candidates must pass 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% in mathematics, physics, and chemistry combined to be eligible for RSV College of Engineering and Technology BE course admissions.
- For ME degree courses: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in the relevant field and score at least 50% on the qualifying examination (45% for candidates from a reserved category) to be eligible for RSV College of Engineering and Technology ME course admissions.
- Lateral/direct second year (diploma candidates): Candidates must score a minimum of 55% in any of the diplomas in the appropriate branch of engineering/technology prescribed by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu, or equivalent to be admitted to the RSV College of Engineering and Technology degree course admissions.
